Green Beans with Almonds
1Green Beans 1/4Butter
3Water & Almonds, cho 1/2Curry powder & Musta
1Yellow Split Peas & 3Fresh Dill
2Hot Green Chiles, se Salt & Pepper
Steam green beans (6-8 min) until tender & set aside. Grind split peas & raw rice to a powder in a spice mill or coffee grinder. Transfer to a small mixing bowl - add chilis & water; mix well. Heat butter in heavy skillet over medium heat.
When butter foams fry almonds for 15-20 seconds until golden brown. Add mustard seeds & fry until they begin to pop. Add curry powder, pea-rice & chili mixture. Cook until dry (about 5 min).
Add coated green beans, salt & pepper. Saute, stirring or shaking pan until beans are heated through. Add dill - serve immediately.
